Light my house first

This is a clear example of the mismatch between what the government sees as a priority and what people see as a priority.
I have always felt and argued that development of people should go hand in hand with the infrastructural development.

In this case the government decided to place solar powered street lights in a neighborhood where there is no public electricity. Those who have money use generators or solar panels to power their houses for few hours a day.
You can guess what happened, all, I mean ALL the solar panels were removed “borrowed” by a section of the public who felt that having the solar panels in their houses/businesses is a higher priority.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’y encourage theft of public property, I am just pointing out the naivety of some governments who boast about their big infrastructure programs while their citizens have no social or physical security.
