Junub Open Space (JOS), The world’s most resilient Innovation Hub

I had the chance to discuss the state of Internet development in South Sudan and ways to build a strong local tech community. Much love to Junub Open Space-JOS and Emmanuel Lobijo for creating such a resilient community space for South Sudanese youth to get inspired, trained and dream big. Emmanuel’s work is the best example of how to start a local space with local resources and create the impact needed. He runs a hub in one room with no constant power supply, no broadband connection, and no outside funding. Despite all these, they are hosting three startups and have regular training for the youth. My talk was part of that. This space might not be the ideal but it is definitely appreciated and valued by the local community.
